This summer I was busier than I’ve ever been before. Over the last few years I’ve had a lot of free time – and in that time I’ve been able to learn to cook, learn to take photos, learn to speak Hungarian* (*may not be true).
Now I’m back in London and am busy, but I still want to keep learning and experiencing new things. People who follow me on Twitter might be aware that I have been doing a lot of writing for the Metro newspaper website, which has opened up loads of exciting new opportunities for me here in the UK.
I’ve also been sharing some recipes with the Great British Chefs website, a collective of some exceptionally talented food obsessives, who I learn from every time I see what they’ve created in their kitchens. I’ve even tried to copy some of their recipes, with ‘mixed’ results (and many burnt pans).
One of the highlights of the summer was working with Jason (@feasttotheworld) on his Singaporean food stall. He made ox-cheek and assam pork belly balls taste like heaven, and I was the money manager/pot opener. A great day in the (slightly dodgy) British summer weather!
Anyway, I digress. So after a busy summer of work in the ‘real world’, my boss decided to treat me to an experience which ‘money couldn’t buy’ – a cooking evening with a Michelin starred chef.
Well ‘money couldn’t buy’ is a bit of a stretch – money did buy it from Virgin Experiences. I haven’t booked in yet (because the voucher lasts until 2014), but I am really looking forward to heading over to Farringdon and cooking up some food (or watching someone with real skill cook up some food!) and then eating it. That’s what ‘winding down’ should be all about.
Where am I going with this? Well, by chance and coincidence (really!), Virgin Experiences got in touch with me recently to see if I wanted to share the opportunity for SOMEONE ELSE (you?!) to do an experience – with a £200 voucher to choose whatever you wanted.
The experiences range from meals out (standard) to cooking experiences (amazing!) – you can even go to the Novelli Academy and learn how to prepare a whole meal with trained chefs. I could do with this one!
The one I was given as a gift is the London four-course fine dining experience, where an “expert Michelin star trained chef will be on hand to guide you through your evening with expert tips and tricks of the trade”. I think they might have their hands full with me….
So that is what it is, this is how you win: Click on this link – Win a £200 Virgin Experiences Voucher – and enter using your email address (or Facebook login or whatever…). That’s it.
My only rule is, if you win, can we go together?
