It’s nearly flippin’ Christmas. Unbelievable!
It feels like yesterday when we were sipping cocktails in the baking sun of July and August…and now I’m shivering in my room (radiator’s broken) and trying to work out where the time went.
That said, I love winter. Being from the North of England, the cold is my friend. And mince pies are my friends too (well they must be, I spent the whole of this afternoon with them!)
The festive season always throws up exciting parties and events too – and this year has quite an amazing one going off in London on the 9th December: Rick Stein For One Night Only at The London Palladium
It’s going to be epic – one of the world’s most famous chefs (he has cooked for the Queen) talking about his life in food, with fellow TV star Brian Turner by his side (who I used to love watching on Ready Steady Cook….RED TOMATO always!)
I find Rick one of the most accessible and easy to follow chefs on TV, as well as one of the sharpest. He also looks a bit like my Dad, which probably makes me like him even more!
Anyway Rick Stein is a legend, and I can not wait to see what a 2 hour talk with him can bring (as well as listening to his tips for the perfect Christmas meals). If you think this sounds good, then tickets start at £35 and you can buy them from www.ricksteinlive.com.
If you REALLY think it sounds good, then I have five pairs of tickets to give away! Cool right? All you need to do is email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and complete the following phrase in less than 20 words: “I want to go and see Rick Stein live because….“
Do it before the 3rd December and you could be in the place with a friend listening to food tales from around the world!
*The competition is free to enter and open to anyone in the world, but I’m not paying for your travel to London so I would suggest that you only enter if you can get to the London Palladium yourself. You can enter as many times as you want. Competition closes on 3/12/2013. Good luck!
